Hey there!
I'm Kate, the owner of Cold River Photography. I’m a documentary-style photographer drawn to the real, radiant, and in-between moments that make life beautiful. I live both in Lovell, Maine and Philadelphia, with my energetic golden retriever, Olive. She is my adventure buddy and constant reminder to find joy in the little things.
Cold River Photography was born from the winding waters of the White Mountains in New Hampshire, where I spent much of my childhood and early adulthood. Those quiet, wild places taught me to see the beauty in stillness, connection, and storytelling—and it’s those same principles that guide my work today.
Whether I’m photographing weddings, elopements, or growing families, my approach is rooted in honesty and heart. I believe photography isn’t about posing perfectly—it’s about preserving the truth of a memory. My goal is always to create images that feel like you: soulful, spontaneous, and timeless.

Justin brings a calm presence and a creative eye to every wedding he photographs. With a background in landscape and wildlife photography, he captures candid moments, quiet details, and the in-between magic that often goes unnoticed. As Kate’s longtime collaborator, he’s an integral part of the Cold River Photography team, helping tell each couple’s story with depth and intention.
